Business Improvement Audit—
Is your staff’s performance falling short of your expectations? Are you wondering why your trained people still aren’t doing what they should? Or perhaps you’re just not sure if there are cracks in your systems that are allowing sales to slip away. The Business Improvement Audit is the very best first step to discovering what’s really going on in your stores and solve performance issues.
Over the years we’ve heard the saying “My business is different.” While the dynamics within every business are unique, the truth is that the differences may be in your company’s core competencies, values and operating methods. The business of retailing, however, is quite comparable. Our experience of examining and creating retail best practices for all kinds of organizations, puts us in a unique position to give you unbiased advice on the challenges and opportunities facing your business.
Whether you use Friedman consulting and training services or not, our Business Improvement Audit, or needs assessment, is an invaluable and inexpensive investment in your future. We also use elements of this process prior to beginning any customized training or program development. Our goal is to really get to know you and your culture, as well as your ability for strategic and tactical implementation. Only after completing a Business Improvement Audit (BIA) can we advise on a program that will help you achieve your sales and productivity objectives.
The BIA is accomplished through a series of activities completed during 2-5 days that include a visit to your store(s) by one of our highly trained and experienced consultants. During the audit, your Friedman consultant may conduct interviews with staff, management and senior executives, complete a series of store visitations that include mystery shopping, review sales and service statistics and standards, and complete a comprehensive questionnaire about the fundamental standards and systems that exist within your business. The BIA concludes with a thorough debriefing of our findings.
The BIA will identify exactly what type of change or modification is needed to become a more effective and productive retailer. Our objectives are simple and always the same—find productivity holes, and fill them.
The extensive performance improvements experienced by many of our past clients have been directly attributable to a thorough up-front Business Improvement Audit prior to selecting an improvement path or the development of any custom programs.
